Copilot Capital Takes Majority Stake in Green Eagle Solutions

A wind-farm operator sometimes needs the turbines to produce less. Green Eagle Solutions has built a software business around carrying out that instruction, along with the fault responses and dispatch decisions that accumulate across a renewable energy fleet.

The Spanish company announced on September 8, 2026 that Copilot Capital had taken a majority investment, backing international expansion with a particular focus on the US. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction brings a software investment firm into an operating business whose customers already entrust ARSOS with actions on physical energy assets.

Green Eagle's announcement also committed to deeper investment in data and AI, with the founding team continuing. The commercial opportunity reaches beyond adding another renewable installation to a dashboard: each new market gives the company more operating decisions to understand, configure and execute for its customers.

A Majority Investment With an International Brief

Copilot's investment changes the ownership behind a company founded in 2012 by Alejandro Cabrera Muñoz and Juan Fernández Riejos. Alejandro Cabrera Muñoz is Green Eagle's CEO; Juan Fernández Riejos is its co-founder and CTO. Their business has offices in Madrid and Seville, placing a Spanish software team behind a product used across international renewable portfolios.

Transaction adviser Arcano Partners described Green Eagle at the transaction as a 66-person company serving 45 customers in 18 countries. The adviser confirmed that it supported Copilot on the majority-stake acquisition. Those figures describe the business around the announcement, rather than a fresh November headcount or customer census.

Copilot is pursuing a familiar kind of software growth through an unusually physical customer problem. Its stated investment focus is European software businesses typically generating €5M to €15M in annual recurring revenue, with support for sales, international expansion, acquisitions and customer success. That range describes Copilot's strategy; Green Eagle's revenue was not disclosed in the reviewed transaction announcements.

Founder and managing partner John Messer brings the investment firm's software expansion mandate to the partnership. Green Eagle was the fifth and final investment from Copilot's first fund, according to the company and transaction adviser. The disclosed strategic direction is more specific than a broad promise of growth: build out the US commercial effort while continuing to invest in the product and expand in Europe.

What ARSOS Is Being Trusted to Do

Green Eagle sells an automation layer connecting renewable assets with the tools their operators already use. ARSOS can detect a problem, apply operational logic and send the resulting command, covering work such as fault handling, curtailment and dispatch. Its customers include operators, asset managers and energy traders responsible for fleets spanning wind, solar, battery storage and hydro.

That relationship puts the software unusually close to the customer's working instructions. A curtailment decision concerns how much a generating asset should produce; a fault response determines what action follows an equipment alert. Automating either process requires the operator's rules to survive the move from human execution into software. The customer is buying a way to repeat those decisions across more assets without making every instruction another manual task.

At the September announcement, Green Eagle reported that ARSOS managed 90 GW, with more than 10,000 wind turbines operating autonomously and over 1M automated actions each month. These are company-reported deployment figures echoed by transaction participants. They describe capacity served by the software and activity on the platform, rather than generating assets owned by Green Eagle.

The operating distinction matters for a buyer evaluating the product. A fleet may already have monitoring, control and trading systems, each serving a different part of the job. Green Eagle's proposition is to connect the decisions made around those systems with execution at the asset. The relationship grows more consequential as the operator adds technologies, sites and market requirements to the same portfolio.

Venture Investors Hand Over a Deployed Business

SET Ventures announced its exit on September 8, saying it had backed Green Eagle at seed in 2021 and again in 2023. The investor described an automation concept developing into a suite used in renewable operations. Its departure places an established customer business, as well as technology, into the ownership transition.

A&G Energy Transition Tech Fund also sold its stake, with its manager confirming the divestment in a September 16 release. A&G had led Green Eagle's late-2023 financing alongside SET Ventures and Kibo Ventures. The company's original December 2023 announcement put that financing at €6M; it is historical funding, separate from the undisclosed consideration in Copilot's majority investment.

For software investors, the sequence is instructive. Venture backers helped finance the company's development and international reach, then sold into a majority investment built around further expansion. The product and founders continue into that next ownership period. The public record leaves the allocation between shareholder liquidity and any new capital undisclosed, so the acquisition price cannot be presented as a fresh product-development budget.

The transaction offers a concrete example of climate technology becoming an operating software investment. DevCuration's coverage of EnergyCAP's investment from LLR Partners examines another software business attached to the daily work around energy, in that case utility data. Its customers have physical assets to run, while its new majority owner specializes in helping software businesses sell and scale. That combination gives Copilot a commercial assignment alongside its financial holding: help an established Spanish supplier deepen its reach into energy operators abroad.

The US Expansion Starts With Existing Customers

Green Eagle says it already works with 2 of the largest US power producers, although the companies were not named in the announcement. That makes the US plan an expansion from an existing customer foothold. The release describes accelerating go-to-market activity there, rather than introducing ARSOS to its first American user.

An installed relationship is useful evidence for the next sales conversation. It gives Green Eagle experience applying its technology inside the market it wants to develop. It also puts more weight on the practical work around a sale: understanding an operator's existing tools, deciding which actions can be automated and supporting a deployment after the contract is signed.

For the founding team, Copilot's backing connects that commercial work with a continuing product brief in data and AI. The announced investment direction does not specify a delivery timetable or quantify future customer outcomes. Operators considering ARSOS still need to establish which workflows fit their fleet, what authority the software receives and how exceptions come back to the people running it.

The next customer may arrive with a different mix of wind, solar, storage and hydro, spread across systems Green Eagle has to accommodate. Alejandro Cabrera Muñoz and Juan Fernández Riejos are taking a company built around automated action into more of those conversations, with a new majority shareholder helping them reach the room. The operating instructions still belong to the customer whose assets will carry them out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What work does ARSOS automate for renewable energy operators?

ARSOS connects renewable assets with operators' existing systems and carries out actions such as fault handling, curtailment and dispatch. Green Eagle serves wind, solar, battery storage and hydro portfolios, with the software applying operational rules across the fleet.

Does the majority investment mean Green Eagle raised a disclosed new funding round?

The September 8, 2026 announcement described a majority investment by Copilot Capital. SET Ventures and A&G confirmed exits, but the purchase price and allocation between shareholder liquidity and new capital were not disclosed.

Why is the US central to Green Eagle's expansion plan?

Green Eagle said the investment would accelerate its US go-to-market strategy while supporting continued growth in Europe. The company reported existing relationships with 2 of the largest US power producers, without identifying those customers.

Will Green Eagle's founders continue after the ownership change?

Green Eagle said its founding team would continue. Co-founder and CEO Alejandro Cabrera Muñoz and co-founder and CTO Juan Fernández Riejos remain central to the product and international expansion story.

How should operators interpret Green Eagle's 90 GW deployment figure?

The 90 GW figure was company-reported at the September 2026 transaction announcement. It describes renewable capacity managed through ARSOS, rather than power-generating assets owned by Green Eagle or an independently audited current November figure.
