Pigment Raises $250M Series E for Autonomous Planning

At Pigment, the business plan is becoming the place where AI can help shape an enterprise’s next move. Connecting a sales forecast, a hiring budget and the cash required to support them gives an agent something more consequential to work with than a document it can summarize.

The Paris-founded business-planning company announced a $250M Series E at a $2.3B valuation on October 21, 2026. Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, led, with WIL (World Innovation Lab), Greenoaks, ICONIQ, IVP and Meritech participating. Pigment describes NVIDIA’s investment as planned.

Co-founders and co-CEOs Eléonore Crespo and Romain Niccoli intend to accelerate R&D and expand engineering around Graphite, Pigment’s proprietary compute engine, and the agents built on it. The financing supports a move toward autonomous planning, putting the shared assumptions behind a business decision closer to the software expected to help carry it out.

What Pigment’s Series E finances

Pigment’s funding announcement describes the destination as a system that builds forecasts, runs scenarios, updates plans and executes within boundaries set by the customer. That is a broader assignment than helping an analyst write a formula. It reaches into the sequence by which an organization decides how to allocate people and money.

The company says it has shipped more than 50 AI capabilities over the past nine months. Its Modeler Agent builds planning models and custom interfaces from natural-language instructions, while the upcoming Planner Agent is intended to run planning cycles end to end. The distinction matters to buyers comparing capabilities available now with the work a supplier intends to automate next.

Pigment is allocating the capital to engineering and R&D as it develops both the engine and the agents. Its announcement also identifies expansion into additional regions as part of the opportunity. No detailed spending allocation or timetable for complete autonomous planning was disclosed in the sources reviewed.

A larger engineering budget can support more complicated models, more concurrent users and more agent activity. For a planning team, however, those improvements become useful through ordinary operating questions: whether the same assumptions reach the right people, whether changes remain traceable and whether a forecast arrives while there is still time to act on it.

The business behind the AI adoption numbers

Pigment reports surpassing $100M in annual recurring revenue earlier in 2026, with ARR doubling year over year. The company also says agents create 85% of new metrics on its platform and 84% of accounts use AI weekly. Those are company-reported measures of commercial scale and product activity, each with a different denominator.

The revenue figure describes a recurring software business around enterprise planning. The activity figures suggest that AI is entering the work of building and using models. They leave room for the harder customer questions about forecast quality, time saved, permission management and which decisions a team is comfortable delegating.

Pigment names Unilever, Snowflake, Siemens, Anthropic and ElevenLabs among its customers. It also says L’Oréal selected the platform to replace its salary-planning tool for 95,000+ employees globally. That is a reported selection and intended scope, rather than a claim that every part of the rollout has already been completed.

Compensation planning makes the governance discussion concrete. A salary assumption can affect a departmental budget, a hiring decision and an employee’s expectations. An AI tool working across those models needs the organization’s definitions and access rules to travel with the data. The people whose work appears in the model have a stake in how that coordination is handled.

Why Graphite sits inside the investment thesis

Pigment describes Graphite’s architecture through three components: the Elastic Engine, unified and governed data, and dynamic modeling. Its technical account explains how shared data, concurrent calculation and adaptable models are intended to keep planning available as inputs change. Graphite is patent-pending technology; that description does not establish a granted patent or an independent benchmark.

The important commercial relationship is between the model and the agent using it. A change in a hiring plan can affect costs, capacity and cash. When those consequences live in connected models, the software has a way to carry an assumption across functions instead of asking every department to reconstruct it separately.

That changes what an enterprise is evaluating during an AI purchase. The conversational interface may make a demonstration easy to follow, but the planning model determines which relationships the software can inspect. Access controls determine whose information it may use. An agent inherits the usefulness and the limits of that foundation.

DevCuration’s coverage of Town’s team AI assistants examines a related question about permissions across employees. Its reporting on AuxoAI’s embedded enterprise work follows the effort needed to recover operating context. Pigment places that context inside the financial and operational plans through which a company decides what it can afford to do.

A European growth investor joins a global planning business

The Scaleup Europe Fund’s investment account identifies the Series E as primary equity financing and frames Pigment as a Paris-built enterprise supplier with global reach. EQT describes support across international expansion, commercial partnerships, product and talent, including introductions within its portfolio. Those are intended forms of support, rather than contracts or revenue commitments already won.

Crespo and Niccoli founded Pigment in 2019 after seeing the difficulty large companies faced in planning and adapting. The company’s $145M Series D in April 2024, led by ICONIQ Growth, supported product development and North American expansion. The new round extends an existing enterprise-software business into a more ambitious allocation of work between people and agents.

For the investor, that creates a route into the decisions its portfolio companies make about budgets, staffing and growth. For Pigment’s customers, it increases the importance of knowing which parts of a planning cycle can be delegated and where a human owner needs to remain visible.

The next salary review, sales revision or hiring discussion will bring its own competing priorities into the model. As Pigment expands what its agents can do, the finance and operating leaders using them will be deciding how far that authority can travel through the business with the numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What work is Pigment trying to automate with the Series E capital?

Pigment plans to expand its engineering team and accelerate R&D around Graphite and its AI agents. Its stated goal is planning that builds forecasts, explores scenarios, updates plans and executes within customer-defined boundaries; end-to-end planning remains a direction of development.

Why does a shared planning model matter for enterprise AI?

Finance, sales and workforce decisions affect one another. Pigment connects their data and assumptions so people and agents can examine those relationships within a governed model, with shared definitions and access controls.

Is NVIDIA’s investment in Pigment already completed?

Pigment’s October 21, 2026 announcements describe NVIDIA’s investment as planned. The funding should therefore be reported with that qualification rather than treating NVIDIA’s participation as completed.

How should buyers interpret Pigment’s AI adoption statistics?

Pigment reports that agents create 85% of new metrics and that 84% of accounts use AI weekly. Those figures describe product activity, with different denominators; they do not independently establish forecast accuracy, customer savings or fully autonomous decisions.

What is Graphite’s role in Pigment’s platform?

Graphite is Pigment’s proprietary, patent-pending compute engine. Pigment describes its architecture through an Elastic Engine, unified and governed data, and dynamic modeling intended to support connected planning as inputs change.
