Bites Raises $40M Series A to Link Training and Performance

A retailer paying to teach a new promotion has a sales question inside its training budget: did the instruction help the people expected to sell it? Bites is building a closer connection between those two responsibilities, backed by a $40M Series A announced October 29, 2026. PeakSpan Capital led the financing, which brings the New York and Tel Aviv company's reported cumulative funding to $55M.

Bites already helps employers create and distribute short, branded training to frontline staff. The investment supports further development of a system intended to connect that learning with business results, alongside US commercial expansion. For operations and sales leaders, the opportunity is to make a lesson part of the response to a specific problem at a store, shift or team, with enough evidence to decide whether the intervention helped.

What Bites' Series A finances

The company's funding announcement names returning investors Vertex Ventures, Horizon Capital, Rittenhouse Ventures and Lyra Ventures alongside lead investor PeakSpan. The $55M figure covers cumulative funding; the newly announced round is $40M. Bites did not disclose a valuation or individual investment amounts in the announcement.

The commercial plan includes expanding enterprise sales and customer success in New York, where co-founder and CEO Eran Heffetz plans to relocate. Bites also intends to develop partner and reseller channels and enter banking, insurance and extended-workforce markets. These plans build on its existing focus on hospitality, quick-service restaurants, retail, consumer goods and manufacturing.

PeakSpan's Phil Dur, the firm's co-founder and managing partner, and Charlie Reinkemeyer are joining the Bites board, according to the announcement. Their involvement accompanies an investment thesis centered on software designed around frontline working habits and budgets held by leaders responsible for operating results.

That combination changes the sales assignment. A training buyer can evaluate content, delivery and participation; a commercial buyer also wants to understand which business problem warrants an intervention. Selling into the second conversation means learning enough about the customer's promotion, service process or onboarding work to explain where the software belongs. More channels can introduce Bites to that customer, while the work of defining a useful intervention stays close to the customer's operation.

The founders brought teaching into the workplace

Bites' founding team combines different views of the same instruction problem. Eran Heffetz came from hospitality, while co-founders Tal Nagler Almog, COO, and Hagai Horovitz, identified as CLO in the issuer's release, brought learning and development experience. The company's official history describes their shared interest in formats people already use to consume and share information.

In a 2021 interview published by Vertex Holdings, Tal Nagler Almog described working with Hagai Horovitz on digital teaching products before the business pivoted from education toward organizations. She also recalled the demands of an early retail customer. The customer-facing discipline predates the latest financing: a teaching format became a product through the requirements of an employer trying to get work done.

Today, Bites AI Studio converts existing documents into editable, branded microlearning videos with narration, summaries and questions. Content can be updated and localized, giving the employer a way to reuse material already sitting in procedures and training files.

The format makes a practical concession to the employee's day. A frontline worker may need an explanation while moving between tasks, and the employer needs a repeatable way to provide it. Reusing an approved procedure can reduce the work of producing another lesson, although the employer still has to choose the right procedure and ensure the finished instruction fits the job. AI makes producing the material easier; the operational judgment starts before anyone presses generate.

Connecting a lesson to a store result

Bites' Learning Suite delivers training through familiar communication channels, with no separate app or login required for the employee experience described by the company. Its Enablement Suite describes connections with enterprise systems, views of completion and team performance, and answers drawn from approved organizational knowledge.

The next development effort ties those capabilities more closely to business data. Bites says portions of the integration are live and describes a fuller automated process under development: identify a performance gap, generate relevant training, deliver it to the employees involved and measure the result. A sales decline for a promotion could become a reason to send a focused coaching lesson, rather than wait for the next scheduled course.

This changes the usefulness of the training record. Completion can show whether somebody received an instruction; matching that record with operating data gives a manager more information about where to investigate. It also creates a measurement obligation. A sales result can move because of staffing, stock availability, pricing or customer demand, so a before-and-after chart needs context before it supports a claim about the lesson's effect.

Bites reports 161% net revenue retention and says customers typically reach more than 90% engagement within 3 weeks in its issuer release. These company-reported figures describe customer expansion and participation. They give Bites a base from which to develop the operating-data connection, while the release supplies no independently audited causal result for the full planned workflow.

The buyer follows the work onto the floor

Frontline software is accumulating different ways to make work visible. DevCuration's coverage of Relay's operational-intelligence financing examines communication and shift information, while Nevvon's training-portability investment follows a completed learning record across employers. These are adjacent operating problems with distinct products, rather than evidence of interchangeable competitors.

Bites is pursuing the relationship between the instruction an employer sends and the performance that follows. That gives the company a reason to work across learning, sales and operations, departments that can look at the same employee through different records. A useful deployment will need those departments to agree on the problem being addressed and on what the data can reasonably explain.

The proposed partner channels and sector expansion make that coordination more consequential. A bank, restaurant group and manufacturer can all have employees who need timely instruction, while the meaning of a successful intervention changes with the job. The repeated purchasing question is specific: which behavior needs support, who should receive it and how will the employer recognize progress?

Heffetz's planned move to New York puts that commercial work on the founder's own calendar. As Bites expands the product, the conversations around a promotion or service standard can travel back into what the team builds. The manager receiving another rollout still needs an explanation that arrives in time for the shift, and a way to see where the team needs help afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

How could Bites connect a training lesson with a store performance problem?

Bites is developing a workflow that identifies an operating gap, creates relevant training, delivers it to the employees involved and measures the result. The company says parts of its business-data integration are live; the full automated loop remains under development.

Why would a sales or operations leader buy frontline training software?

A promotion, service standard or new procedure depends on employees understanding and carrying it out. Bites aims to connect instruction with those operating responsibilities, giving sales and operations leaders a reason to participate alongside learning and development teams.

What do Bites’ reported retention and engagement figures establish?

Bites reports 161% net revenue retention and typical engagement above 90% within 3 weeks. These company-reported metrics describe expansion and participation; they do not independently establish the effect of a particular lesson on sales.

How does Bites fit into an employer’s existing training process?

AI Studio converts existing documents into branded, editable microlearning videos. Bites delivers training through familiar communication channels, while its product pages describe connections with existing learning and enterprise systems.

Where will the Series A support Bites’ expansion?

Bites says the capital supports further platform development, enterprise sales and customer success in New York, partner and reseller channels, and expansion into banking, insurance and extended-workforce markets. CEO Eran Heffetz plans to relocate to New York to build the commercial organization.
