Maglut Heavy Industries is building a chromatography-based rare earth separation platform in Long Beach, California. Purity is meaningful, but it is one part of the industrial case. Maglut has not publicly disclosed recovery rates, continuous throughput, resin lifetime, reagent consumption, energy use, waste profile, capital intensity, or cost per kilogram. Around-the-market reporting from Axios identifies a $3.1M pre-seed round from Wave Function, Nova Threshold, and Julian Capital. Julian Capital also lists Maglut in its deep-tech portfolio.

For an early industrial company, pre-seed capital buys more than product development. It funds equipment, testing, feedstock, process controls, safety systems, facilities, and the engineering time required to learn where a pilot process breaks under pressure. Maglut's stated move toward demonstration scale is therefore the most important near-term operating signal.
