Avanlee Care Raises $3.5M for Caregiver Engagement

Avanlee Care is asking health plans to make a family caregiver's week easier before asking that caregiver to do more for the plan. That sequence sits behind the Billings, Montana company's expansion into Medicare Advantage, where a useful family tool can become a way to help members complete overdue care.

On November 5, 2026, Avanlee Care announced $3.5M in new funding led by BEA Venture Fund, with continued support from Esther Dyson, Chrysalis Ventures, FairBridge VC and other investors. The seed financing brings company-reported funding to $6M since its first investment in 2021. CEO and founder Avanlee Christine says the money will support integrations, engineering, customer success and work with more health plans and healthcare organizations.

For healthcare buyers, the proposition reaches beyond another channel for reminders. Avanlee Care is building a commercial relationship around people already coordinating care at home, whose willingness to use the product will determine whether the plan's next request gets any further than its last message.

What Avanlee Care's funding will support

The company's funding announcement describes an expansion of work already developed through its consumer app and enterprise relationships. Avanlee Care intends to connect more closely with health plans, providers and pharmacies while growing the teams responsible for building and supporting those connections. Those are plans for the capital, rather than a disclosure of named new customers or contracted revenue.

That mix of hiring and integration work makes sense for a service crossing institutional and household boundaries. A plan can identify an overdue preventive visit in its records. A relative may know the member's schedule, preferred provider and reasons for putting the appointment off. Connecting those two views requires permission, usable information and practical help with getting the visit booked.

BEA Venture Fund's lead investment puts new backing behind that enterprise effort, alongside returning support from the named investors. The announcement gives an aggregate funding history without a valuation or a breakdown of earlier rounds.

How the product earns a place in the family

Avanlee Christine and CTO and founder Chris Monson lead a business that began with family coordination. The current leadership page also identifies Eric Scott as chief growth officer and Esther Dyson as board chair and investor. The founder's account of watching relatives manage her grandfather's care gives the business a specific origin, while its enterprise direction changes who pays for the help.

The Avanlee platform brings shared calendars, care notes, tasks, messages, files and contacts into one place. Medication reminders and appointment support sit alongside shopping, resources and caregiver wellbeing. The range reflects how much ordinary administration surrounds a medical need: somebody still has to remember, arrange, buy and explain what happens after an appointment ends.

For a caregiver, useful software has to earn time before it can demand attention. That creates a product discipline an enterprise sales conversation can easily obscure. The health plan may approve the purchase, yet the family member decides whether the app remains part of the week. A reminder embedded in a service that helps organize care has a different starting point from one more message arriving from an unfamiliar institution.

Why Medicare Advantage changes the operating job

Avanlee Care's health-plan program describes identifying caregivers through designated-representative records and existing communication consent, then introducing the service through the plan. The company says caregiver actions are linked to individual care gaps and closure is checked against plan data. Its current commercial description includes charges associated with outreach, active engagement and confirmed gap actions, plus implementation.

For an operator evaluating the service, those stages deserve separate attention. Reaching an authorized contact, getting that person to use the app and completing a care action are different accomplishments. A purchasing team needs to understand which one it is being charged for, what evidence confirms it and how the family can control the communication.

Caregiver support also carries a relationship the institution cannot reduce to a reporting field. A family member may be handling prescriptions and appointments for several reasons at once, with fatigue and competing responsibilities shaping what can happen that day. Enterprise support has to remain useful under those conditions. The company's plans to grow customer success therefore sit close to the product's central obligation: help a plan implement the service without making the caregiver inherit the implementation work.

A large caregiving population, with individual limits

The 2025 AARP and National Alliance for Caregiving study estimated that 63M American adults provided family care to an adult or child with a medical condition or disability during the preceding year. That national population extends well beyond Medicare Advantage and includes caregivers in payment programs. It gives the category context, rather than a ready-made customer count for Avanlee Care.

The competitive task also extends beyond another vendor's feature list. Avanlee Care must fit beside existing member outreach, family communication habits and the work a plan's own staff already performs. Its opportunity is to make a neglected relationship easier to use responsibly. Evidence about sustained adoption and completed care actions will matter more to a prospective buyer than the size of the national population alone.

The funding announcement does not establish a measured improvement in Star Ratings, healthcare costs or clinical outcomes. Avanlee Care now has more backing for the engineering and service work that connects a plan's records with a family's next appointment. As that work expands, the caregiver still has to find something worth returning to on the phone already carrying the rest of the family's day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Avanlee Care targeting Medicare Advantage plans?

Avanlee Care connects plans with family caregivers who help members arrange appointments, manage medications and follow through on care. The service is designed to connect that existing work with the plan’s care-gap priorities; improved clinical or Star Rating outcomes are not established by the funding announcement.

How does the service fit alongside existing member outreach?

Avanlee Care focuses on the family member acting for a member, using designated-caregiver records and communication consent. Its program links caregiver actions to care gaps and checks closure against plan data, rather than treating message delivery as a completed health action.

What is the new capital intended to support?

The company says the funding will support expansion with Medicare Advantage plans and healthcare organizations, additional integrations, and engineering and customer success hiring. These are intended uses of proceeds, not evidence of signed new contracts.

What should a health plan evaluate before adopting a caregiver platform?

A plan should examine consent, the caregiver identification process, sustained use, and how completed actions are confirmed. Avanlee Care’s current program describes charges associated with outreach, active engagement and confirmed care-gap actions, so buyers should understand each billing event and its evidence.
