A private-market investment can become easier to buy without becoming easier to understand.
SuperReturn Secondaries North America brings the institutions building that access into the same New York room on November 17 and 18. The conference is organized around the structures turning secondaries from an occasional liquidity tool into a larger part of portfolio construction, fund distribution and private-wealth access.
On November 18, C1 Fund co-founder and CEO Dr. Najamul Hasan Kidwai joins Gregory Rowland of Davis Polk, Ryan Brizek of Simpson Thacher and John Cox of Cox Capital Partners for “The democratisation of liquidity: unlocking the $25 trillion retail frontier.” The panel will examine how RIAs, semi-liquid vehicles and public-market structures can broaden exposure to private assets while carrying the operational complexity and transparency expectations that come with the investor base.
The secondaries market once entered the story when an investor needed an exit. It now reaches fund distribution, portfolio rebalancing, continuation vehicles, private credit and the infrastructure used to bring private assets closer to individual investors.
That expansion creates a larger question than access alone. A public or semi-liquid wrapper can shorten the route into a private portfolio. It cannot remove the work of valuing the assets, explaining the liquidity terms, governing conflicts or showing investors what sits underneath the security they can now buy.
C1 Fund enters that conversation from the public-market side. The listed closed-end fund is designed to give investors exposure to late-stage private companies working across digital-asset infrastructure. Kidwai's panel places that structure beside the lawyers and investment operators responsible for making broader access hold together.
