Money20/20 is built to show where finance is heading. Axios Live is using its October 20 gathering in Las Vegas to ask who will govern the movement once software begins acting inside the system rather than merely reporting on it.
Axios deals reporter Lucinda Shen and Axios Pro fintech reporter Ryan Lawler will host one-on-one conversations with Zack Anderson of JPMorgan, Travis Hill of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Alpaca co-founder and CEO Yoshi Yokokawa. Axios publisher Nicholas Johnston will moderate Anderson's View From the Top segment.
The agentic economy is not one market. It reaches banking data, payments, brokerage infrastructure, regulation, identity, risk and the operational boundaries that determine what software is permitted to do. Putting a bank data leader, a federal regulator and a brokerage infrastructure founder in the same program creates three different views of the same pressure.
The useful tension will live between capability and permission. An agent can move faster than a traditional workflow. Financial institutions still have to explain the data it used, the authority it carried and the consequence of the action it took.
