Giggles Raises $1M+ Pre-Seed to Build Social Investing Platform for Video Content

Ideas don’t usually ask for permission to become companies. They show up sideways, dressed like a joke, moving fast enough that by the time people realize what they’re looking at, it already has users, momentum, and now capital behind it. Giggles didn’t begin with a product roadmap. It started with Justin Jin dropping a meme into the TikTok stream in 2023 about a fictional app where people could “invest” in videos, and the internet did what it always does when something feels just real enough, it amplified it without hesitation. That signal carried further than expected, far enough that Justin Jin, alongside Edwin Wang, stopped treating it like content and started treating it like direction, building something that leaned into behavior instead of trying to redirect it.

Now it’s real, and now it’s funded, with Giggles securing over $1M in Pre-Seed funding led by 1kx, alongside Noar Ventures, Bain Capital Scout, Virtuals Protocol, and Night Capital, a group that tends to notice shifts early rather than react late. What they’re backing here isn’t just a product wrapped in novelty, it’s a pattern that already exists being given structure, something users understand instantly because they’ve been doing it long before anyone thought to formalize it.

The product doesn’t try to re-educate anyone, it simply meets the user where instinct already lives. A scroll, a pause, a quick judgment call that a piece of content is about to take off, and now that instinct has weight behind it. Users can buy in early and, if the video runs, so does their position, turning what used to be a comment into something measurable. Edwin Wang, CTO, put it plainly in how people approach culture, they already treat early discovery like ownership, and Giggles just made that behavior actionable.

That distinction carries more weight than any individual feature because building something entirely new requires time and explanation, while building around existing behavior creates immediate traction. Justin Jin, CEO, recognized a habit hiding in plain sight and built infrastructure around it, removing friction instead of adding steps, which is why the experience feels intuitive before it even needs to be explained.

Timing sharpens everything here, with short-form video dominating attention while financial behavior continues to blend into everyday digital life. Gen Z doesn’t separate entertainment from economics in clean lines, it all flows together, and Giggles sits directly in that stream, turning attention into something trackable, tradable, and immediate without breaking the rhythm users are already in.

What reads like a novelty at first glance starts to feel more structural when you zoom out, because attention has always carried value and influence has always had weight, just never this visible or this liquid. Giggles assigns numbers to both and lets the market respond in real time, tightening the gap between watching something happen and having a stake in it.
