Fundcraft Raises €12M for European Fund Operations

Private markets can spend months engineering a fund structure, then leave the back office to reconcile that sophistication across spreadsheets, inboxes, administrators, banks, tax advisers, auditors, and regulators. Each participant may be competent. The handoffs still create a second investment problem hiding behind the first.

Fundcraft has raised €12M in strategic growth financing to make those handoffs operate from a shared record. Riverside Acceleration Capital and CCAP Investments co-led the September 9, 2026 financing, with existing investors 3VC, MiddleGame Ventures, and Aperture Capital participating.

The Luxembourg-rooted company says the round brings total capital secured since its 2021 founding to €40M. The money will support expansion across European jurisdictions, deeper capabilities for institutional private equity buyout strategies, and more automation and AI inside investor, fund, and portfolio operations. The larger signal is that fund administration is becoming part of the product an asset manager sells.

What Fundcraft Raised

Fundcraft describes the transaction as strategic growth financing. The official announcement does not disclose whether the capital is equity, debt, or another structure, and it provides no valuation, ownership terms, or investor check sizes. That makes Growth the accurate publishing category rather than the Series A label used by one secondary database.

Riverside Acceleration Capital and CCAP Investments bring different versions of growth support. RAC is the growth-stage strategy of The Riverside Company and had already backed Fundcraft's expansion into France through an undisclosed investment announced in February 2026. CCAP invests in European technology, data, AI, and technology-enabled services. Returning investors 3VC, MiddleGame Ventures, and Aperture Capital provide continuity from Fundcraft's earlier venture financing.

Fundcraft completed an €11M Series A in 2024 through a €5M first close led by Aperture Capital and a €6M final close led by 3VC and MiddleGame Ventures. The company now reports €40M in lifetime capital, although the public sources reviewed do not itemize every financing that bridges the disclosed rounds to that total.

Why Fund Operations Become the Product

Fundcraft combines regulated services, proprietary technology, and operating teams across the fund lifecycle. Its platform connects fundraising, investor onboarding, transfer agency, fund administration, portfolio operations, compliance, data management, reporting, and waterfall calculations. The aim is to let asset managers, Fundcraft staff, auditors, tax advisers, banks, and depositaries work from one data layer instead of rebuilding the same record at every institutional boundary.

That matters because alternative-investment structures are becoming more varied while the standard for operational proof keeps rising. Evergreen funds, ELTIF 2.0 vehicles, private-market access platforms, and multi-jurisdiction parallel structures can increase investor volume, distribution complexity, reporting work, and regulatory coordination. A polished investor portal cannot carry that load by itself; the underlying controls, responsibilities, and data have to remain aligned as the structure changes.

Fundcraft says automation and AI-enabled workflows are already deployed in selected processes across investor, fund, and portfolio operations. The company has not disclosed the specific models, vendors, audit methods, or independent performance evidence behind those systems. The credible near-term opportunity is narrower and more useful than an AI label: reduce repeated work, preserve data lineage, surface exceptions, and help operating teams manage complexity without creating another disconnected layer.

Growth Meets Jurisdiction

Fundcraft was founded in 2021 by Julien De Mayer, Olga Porro, and Victor Martin Garcia. The current leadership team lists Julien De Mayer as Co-Founder and CEO, Olga Porro as Co-Founder and CPO, and Christian Senitz as COO. Victor Martin Garcia, who served as Co-Founder and CTO during Fundcraft's 2024 Series A, left the company in 2026 and is not presented as a current executive.

The company describes its Luxembourg operation as a CSSF-licensed AIFM and central administrator. In June 2026, Fundcraft announced that its French entity had received AMF authorization as a portfolio management company acting as AIFM. Fundcraft says the French platform has since been mandated to support several launches representing more than €1B in combined commitments and subscription targets, while the broader operating model increasingly supports structures spanning Luxembourg, France, the United States, and Spain.

Fundcraft also reports nearly 300 supported funds, more than 20,000 LP subscriptions, and nearly €20B in fund commitments and subscription targets. The company says it signed as many new clients in the first half of 2026 as in all of 2025, with more than half of the new clients coming from mid-to-large alternative asset managers or complex private-market access platforms. Nearly one-third of new mandates during that period came from existing clients. These are company-reported scale and retention signals, not independently audited operating results.

What the €12M Changes

The financing gives Fundcraft room to deepen its work for institutional buyout managers, expand into additional jurisdictions, and embed more automation into the controls already carrying customer data. That is a demanding combination. Each new market adds legal entities, regulators, service providers, tax and reporting requirements, while each larger client arrives with existing systems and records that must migrate without losing history or control.

The investor group is underwriting an operating model as much as a software platform. RAC can support Fundcraft with B2B software scaling resources, CCAP brings a European growth-equity perspective, and the returning investors carry context from the company's venture-stage development. Their continued involvement does not verify customer economics or service quality, but it aligns the capital with the unglamorous work required to make regulated infrastructure travel.

Fundcraft plans to apply AI across investor onboarding, transfer agency, reporting, waterfall calculations, and cross-border distribution. The useful measure will be whether those workflows make exceptions easier to see and decisions easier to defend while the company supports more complex funds. In regulated operations, faster output matters only when the underlying record remains trustworthy.

The Operating Proof Ahead

Fundcraft's public record shows growth in funds supported, LP subscriptions, client wins, geographic scope, and capital. It does not disclose revenue, profitability, customer retention rates, migration timelines, service-level performance, or independently audited gains from automation and AI. Those missing figures keep the announcement in its proper place: evidence of investor conviction and operating momentum, rather than proof that every part of the model scales cleanly.

The next phase will unfold inside the handoffs Fundcraft is promising to simplify. A buyout manager may care about the interface, but it will keep the provider whose records survive a fund launch, a migration, a cross-border subscription, a waterfall calculation, an audit request, and the inevitable exception no demo could anticipate. Fundcraft now has €12M more to make one operating layer carry that sequence without asking the client to rebuild the truth between each step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Fundcraft's growth financing matter for private-market managers?

Private-market funds are becoming more complex across structures, investor volumes, jurisdictions, and reporting requirements. Fundcraft is using the financing to extend a unified operating model across those handoffs, where fragmented data and manual reconciliation can create cost, delay, and control risk.

What does Fundcraft actually provide?

Fundcraft combines regulated fund services, proprietary technology, and operating expertise across fundraising, investor onboarding, transfer agency, administration, portfolio operations, compliance, data management, reporting, and waterfall calculations. The company says these participants work from one connected data and workflow layer.

Is Fundcraft's €12M financing a Series A?

Fundcraft describes the September 2026 transaction as strategic growth financing, and the primary announcement does not call it a Series A or disclose the security. Fundcraft previously completed an €11M Series A in 2024.

How will Fundcraft use the new capital?

Fundcraft says the money will support expansion across existing and additional European jurisdictions, deeper capabilities for institutional private equity buyout strategies, and more automation and AI across investor, fund, and portfolio operations.

What evidence about Fundcraft remains undisclosed?

The financing announcement does not disclose valuation, ownership, security type, individual investor check sizes, revenue, profitability, or independently audited gains from Fundcraft's automation and AI workflows. The public sources reviewed also do not fully itemize the company's reported €40M lifetime-capital total.
