Cure and Fidelity Put Healthcare Investors Behind the First Pitch
A founder usually enters an investor conversation carrying the first burden of proof. The Reverse Pitch: Investors Take the Mic changes the order for one evening.
Cure and Fidelity Private Shares are bringing healthtech, life-science and biotech founders together in New York on November 17. The investors will speak first, explaining the markets they are watching, the companies they want to meet and the boundaries that shape their decisions before a founder begins the usual pitch.
The investors behind the conversation
Charlie Stephens of Fidelity will moderate the discussion. Eddie Yang and Moses Adubi, principals at Deerfield Management, will bring perspectives from therapeutics and healthcare services. Selin Altinok, an associate at SOSV, joins them from an investment platform built around early-stage science and technology companies.
Those titles sit close together on an agenda. The companies they evaluate may not.
A therapeutic program can move through scientific validation, clinical work and regulatory review before the commercial model becomes visible. A healthcare-services company meets customers, reimbursement structures and operating workflows on another clock. Infrastructure and software can scale faster while still carrying the privacy, integration and procurement demands of healthcare.
The reverse-pitch format gives founders a chance to hear those differences before spending weeks trying to turn a broad investor introduction into a specific capital relationship.
Why this room matters
Fundraising is often described as access. Founder time is part of the same market.
Every meeting asks a company to prepare the story, explain the evidence and decide how much of the future can be made credible inside one conversation. Better information about investor fit does not remove that work. It helps founders decide where the work belongs.
That makes this room useful beyond the names on the panel. Investors have to make their own case for fit. Founders can listen for the points where a thesis begins, where it stops and whether the operating clock behind the capital matches the company they are building.
