Billd Secures $100M VPC Facility for Construction Finance

The supplier can be ready to deliver while the money for the previous job is still somewhere upstream. For a commercial subcontractor, taking on more work means deciding how much of that distance the business can afford to carry, a problem Billd has spent years turning into a specialized financing business.

On November 5, 2026, the Austin, Texas company announced a $100M credit facility with Victory Park Capital to support growth and expand financing access for U.S. commercial construction subcontractors. Co-founders Chris Doyle, Billd's president and CEO, and Jesse Weissburg, its CCO, built the company around the payment interval separating a subcontractor's expenses from its collections.

The agreement adds an institutional credit relationship as Billd broadens the ways it supplies working capital. Its significance reaches beyond a larger financing headline: a specialist lender is backing a business whose underwriting has to understand the obligations moving through a construction project, while the subcontractor still needs to decide which jobs its cash can support.

What Billd's $100M Victory Park Capital Facility Provides

The new facility supports Billd's financing activity and continued growth, according to the company's announcement. Victory Park Capital specializes in private credit and asset-backed finance, making the relationship a fit with Billd's construction-specific underwriting and servicing. Gordon Watson, a VPC partner quoted in the release, points to those capabilities and the company's understanding of construction payment cycles as reasons for the partnership.

A credit facility supplies financing capacity under an agreement; it should not be counted as a fresh equity round. Billd has not disclosed the amount drawn, pricing, maturity or detailed lending conditions in the announcement. The source states the amount as $100M without an explicit currency code, and this coverage preserves that denomination without conversion.

For a financing platform, the institutional relationship reaches into the work behind each customer decision. Expanding access requires Billd to judge an obligation, provide the funds and service repayment across the period in which construction cash changes hands. VPC's participation gives Billd another capital partner for that activity, although the public announcement provides no basis for estimating the facility's effect on borrower pricing or approval rates.

That distinction keeps the customer consequence in view. A larger facility can support access to financing; the terms available to a particular subcontractor still depend on the product, the application and the credit decision attached to that business.

Why Construction Working Capital Requires Several Products

Billd's product range separates needs that can look similar from outside a construction company. Material Financing pays the supplier for a specific order, placing funds at the point where materials have to be purchased. Pay App Advance provides financing against an approved pay application, addressing a later point when work has produced a payment claim but the cash has yet to arrive.

Those are different underwriting assignments. In one case the business needs to obtain an input to perform its work; in the other it is waiting for payment associated with work already documented. Treating the needs separately gives Billd a way to participate at more than one point in the customer's operating cycle, rather than assuming a single financing product can fit every cash demand.

Billd added another option with the October 27, 2026 national launch of Flex Line, a revolving credit product originated by Cross River Bank. It covers eligible business expenses across projects, and available credit replenishes as balances are repaid. Approval requirements apply, and Billd presents it as a complement to a traditional line of credit.

The Cross River product relationship and the VPC facility have separate disclosed roles. Nothing in the new announcement establishes that the VPC capacity is earmarked for Flex Line. For the subcontractor, the useful development is the wider set of financing choices around a business whose supplier orders, pay applications and ordinary expenses keep arriving on their own schedules.

How Billd's Capital History Explains the New Agreement

Billd began in 2018 with Chris Doyle and Jesse Weissburg as co-founders, according to its official company history. Its financing record shows both investment in the operating company and arrangements supporting lending capacity, two categories that answer different commercial needs. That history helps explain why the new VPC agreement belongs in a credit story rather than a simple tally of startup fundraising.

In October 2024, Billd announced a $17.5M strategic funding round led by LL Funds and MissionOG, with RJT Credit, Ulysses Management and HighSage Ventures participating. A separate December 2024 agreement with ATLAS SP Partners provided a $144M financing facility. Those announcements describe distinct transactions, and their headline amounts do not establish how much capacity remains available today.

Billd then announced $7.3M in strategic funding in November 2025, led by MissionOG with existing investors HighSage Ventures and RJT Credit. That investment supported additional capital solutions, including early-payment programs developed with general contractors. The product direction brought the payer into Billd's commercial relationships alongside the subcontractor seeking liquidity.

Read together, the sequence shows a company building products, distribution relationships and capital arrangements around the same payment problem. The public disclosures do not support adding the facilities and investment rounds into an aggregate equity total, nor do historical investor lists establish additional participants in the new VPC facility.

Where Financing Fits in the Construction Technology Market

Construction technology increasingly reaches the financial decisions that determine which work a contractor can accept. DevCuration's coverage of Adaptive's construction accounting software and Miter's construction operating system follows efforts to organize job costs, payroll and the records behind a contractor's numbers. Billd works on the capital available around those obligations, a related need with a direct financing responsibility.

Better records can make an obligation easier to understand, while funding it creates a continuing relationship with the borrower. Billd's commercial position depends on keeping those responsibilities close: understanding construction well enough to assess credit, then supplying products that fit the moment at which the customer needs money. That is the operating substance behind its claim to construction specialization.

For VPC, the disclosed transaction places an asset-backed finance relationship behind that specialist activity. For Billd's founders, additional capacity accompanies a broader product range and more opportunities to serve the same subcontractor. Neither the announcement nor the product launches disclose enough to judge future credit losses, margins or customer economics, so those outcomes remain outside the conclusions available here.

The subcontractor's next decision stays concrete. Before agreeing to another project, the owner has to account for the supplier order, the work already awaiting payment and the expenses that continue between jobs; Billd now has another institutional relationship behind its effort to finance that calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the VPC facility different from an equity funding round?

The $100M agreement is a credit facility supporting Billd’s financing capacity and growth. It does not establish a new equity valuation or mean the full amount has already been drawn.

Which construction payment problems do Billd’s products address?

Material Financing pays for supplier orders, while Pay App Advance provides funds against approved pay applications. Flex Line provides revolving working capital across projects for qualified subcontractors.

Do Victory Park Capital and Cross River Bank have the same role?

Victory Park Capital is the counterparty to the newly announced $100M facility. Cross River Bank originates Flex Line, the separate revolving-credit product Billd launched nationally on October 27, 2026; the facility announcement does not earmark VPC funds for that product.

What does a subcontractor gain from a broader financing product range?

A subcontractor can face a materials purchase, a pending approved payment and ongoing operating expenses at different times. Separate financing products address those different obligations, subject to the applicable terms and credit approval.

Which terms remain undisclosed in Billd’s facility announcement?

The announcement does not disclose pricing, maturity, detailed lending conditions or the amount drawn. It also does not establish how the facility will affect individual borrower rates or approval decisions.
