Wint Raises $36M to Scale AI Water Intelligence Globally

Wint has raised a $36M Series D to expand an operating layer most buildings still discover they need after water has already crossed a ceiling. LIP Ventures and Inven Capital co-led the September 9, 2026 round.

The New York-based water-intelligence company plans to accelerate product development and deepen its market reach. Wint's platform combines connected flow monitoring, AI-based anomaly detection, alerts, remote or automatic shutoff, and portfolio analytics across construction sites and commercial, industrial, residential, and mission-critical facilities.

That product sits where 4 budgets usually meet too late: facilities, sustainability, insurance, and business continuity. A leak is water waste until it becomes damaged equipment, a delayed project, a displaced tenant, or a claim. Wint is trying to turn those separate consequences into one earlier operating decision.

What Wint announced

LIP Ventures and returning investor Inven Capital were the only investors named in the Series D announcement. Wint did not disclose its valuation, financing terms, ownership changes, or individual check sizes. The company said the proceeds will support product development and broader market reach without providing a hiring target, revenue figure, or geographic rollout schedule.

Inven has seen this story before. The European climate-tech investor co-led Wint's $35M Series C with Insight Partners in August 2023. Insight also led a $15M Series B in January 2022. Those 3 disclosed rounds total $86M.

Wint also received an undisclosed strategic investment from Grosvenor in December 2025 after its technology was tested through the property group's Future+ program. Because neither that investment nor parts of Wint's earlier financing history have consistent public amounts, the company’s exact lifetime funding total is not defensible from the current record.

How Wint turns water flow into an operating signal

Wint's system monitors the flow of water through connected meters and learns the normal behavior of each water system. Its AI models look for deviations that may represent a burst pipe, a stuck toilet, a slow leak, or another pattern of abnormal consumption. Depending on the customer's configuration, the platform can alert a team, close a connected valve automatically, or let an operator shut it remotely.

The company's technology architecture is designed to keep protection local when a building loses connectivity. Wint says its control units support on-device analysis, backup power, and as many as 3 communication paths through cellular, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet. The platform also connects water data with dashboards, reporting tools, building-management systems, ESG platforms, and incident workflows.

That resilience matters because a leak does not wait for a cloud service, an overnight maintenance queue, or the person with the right login. The commercial promise is less about producing another alert than deciding which anomaly deserves action and making that action possible before the incident spreads.

Insurance has become part of the product

Wint's relationship with HSB, part of Munich Re, gives the platform a distribution and underwriting dimension. HSB offers access to Wint through its sensor-solutions portfolio and backs a performance warranty with coverage tiers up to $250,000 for eligible construction projects.

HSB says a joint analysis with Wint across 66 construction sites found that protected sites produced 73% fewer water-related claims and 90% lower monetary losses than unprotected sites. That study is more useful than a generic AI claim because it connects the system to the economic outcome insurers and contractors actually price. It still represents a limited study tied to specific sites and warranty conditions, not a universal result for every building.

The relationship also changes the buyer conversation. A facilities team can evaluate water savings, a contractor can evaluate delay risk, and an insurer can evaluate claim frequency and severity from the same underlying flow data. Wint becomes more valuable when those groups treat prevention as a shared operating system instead of 3 separate procurement exercises.

The performance Wint is asking investors to scale

Wint reported that its systems saved 1.15B gallons of water during 2025, prevented an estimated $100M in water damage across more than 1,300 incidents, and avoided more than 39,000 metric tons of carbon emissions. These figures are company-reported estimates rather than independently audited performance, but they show the scale and breadth of the outcome Wint is selling.

The company has also moved beyond leak alerts. Wint added AI-based Water Insights and introduced water-temperature and boiler-health analysis. By correlating flow and temperature patterns, the system is designed to flag conditions such as overheating, underheating, or insufficient boiler capacity before they become energy waste, service interruptions, or emergency repairs.

This expansion gives the Series D a clearer product thesis. Once a platform has reliable water-flow data across a portfolio, the next commercial step is to interpret more of the systems attached to that water. Leak prevention opens the door; operational intelligence makes the software relevant on ordinary days when nothing is flooding.

What the $36M changes

CEO Alon Geva leads Wint alongside co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Yaron Dycian. Their scale challenge is now less about proving that a sensor can notice an unusual flow and more about making water intelligence dependable across different buildings, plumbing systems, climates, contractors, insurers, and operating teams.

LIP Ventures is joining that expansion while Inven Capital is recommitting after the Series C. The investor logic points toward a business that can sit between climate technology, property operations, construction risk, and insurance instead of depending on a single sustainability budget.

The $36M gives Wint room to improve the product and widen distribution, but the next evidence will come from repeatable deployment. Every new building brings different pipe layouts, usage patterns, emergency policies, and people authorized to close a valve. Wint's opportunity is to make those differences learnable without making prevention fragile, then turn a quiet line of water data into a decision the entire building can trust.
