Standard Crypto

Standard Crypto does not walk into rooms asking for permission. Adam Goldberg and Alok Vasudev built it that way in 2019, informed by years inside the machinery of venture and the early, unpolished edges of crypto itself. Adam Goldberg came out of Lightspeed Venture Partners with a reputation for seeing around corners in blockchain before it was dinner table conversation. Alok Vasudev brought early-stage instincts shaped at s28 Capital and years of betting on systems most people needed explained twice. Together, they did not build a firm chasing trends. They built one fluent in them before they had names.

The thesis is not dressed up. Crypto is not a feature. It is the foundation. Standard Crypto invests where code meets coordination, where incentives stop being theory and start moving capital, behavior, and power. They show up early, often before consensus has a pulse, backing founders at seed and Series A who are not borrowing conviction but manufacturing it. Infrastructure, DeFi, consumer crypto, developer tooling. The connective tissue is simple. If it reshapes how value moves or how people organize online, it earns a meeting.

The portfolio reads like a map of pressure points across the crypto stack. Aave pushing capital efficiency in decentralized lending. Polygon and Offchain Labs extending Ethereum’s reach when scale became survival. OpenSea turning digital ownership into a marketplace people could actually touch. Farcaster exploring what social looks like when users own the graph. Mysten Labs building new chains, Gauntlet stress-testing risk, SynFutures leaning into derivatives. Each one sits in a different lane, but the throughline is clear. These are not passengers. They are infrastructure for where the internet is going.

What separates Standard Crypto is not just where they invest, but how they think when they get there. This is a firm that respects the mechanics. Protocol design, incentive alignment, governance pressure, community dynamics. The work does not stop at wiring capital. It moves into the uncomfortable layers where small decisions echo across networks worth billions. Founders who work with them are expected to think long, build through volatility, and understand that crypto does not reward tourists.

There is a rhythm to how they move through the market. Cycles come and go, narratives inflate and collapse, but Standard Crypto stays positioned where underlying value compounds. Not loud. Not reactive. Just consistently early where it counts.

And right now, across Aave, Farcaster, Polygon, OpenSea, Offchain Labs, Mysten Labs, SynFutures and beyond, the builders in their orbit are hiring. Engineers, researchers, operators, people who want to work where the ground is still shifting.

Follow this firm. Study their founders. Track their plays.
