nextNYC Puts Founders and Investors Across the Coffee Table
A founder-investor conversation does not always need a stage, a pitch deck or a room full of people waiting for the same introduction. nextNYC's October VC/Founder Coffee Meetups are built around the smaller version of the room.
The October 15 program runs in Midtown with Matt Garrity of Avidbank and David Rose of Gust and Rose Tech Ventures, and in NoMad with Garrett Higgins of Aurelius Holdings and Tamsin Kernick of Morgan Stanley. The format is intentionally informal: early-stage founders, local investors and a group small enough for the conversation to move past the first question.
Why this room matters
Fundraising often becomes public at the financing announcement. The relationships behind it usually begin much earlier, while a founder is still learning how another person reads the market, the company and the work that remains.
Small rooms do not guarantee useful relationships. They create enough space for one to begin without asking the founder to perform for the entire ecosystem at once.
