Artificial intelligence is usually discussed at the model layer. Newark is asking what has to exist underneath it: power, fiber, networks, buildings, sensors, security and a workforce able to operate the physical stack.
The Infrastructure of AI takes place on October 16, 2026. The Infrastructure of AI: Beyond Software – Building the Physical World Behind Artificial Intelligence explores what it actually takes to create an AI-ready city. Using Newark, New Jersey as the case study, this panel moves the AI conversation beyond software and examines the physical systems that make artificial intelligence possible: fiber and broadband, telecommunications, low-voltage infrastructure, networks, power, AI-enabled cameras and sensors, edge computing, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and smart buildings.
Artificial intelligence is usually discussed at the model layer. Newark is asking what has to exist underneath it: power, fiber, networks, buildings, sensors, security and a workforce able to operate the physical stack. The value of the event will not be measured by how current the subject sounds. It will be measured by whether the people in the room leave with a clearer decision, a more useful relationship or a sharper understanding of the work waiting outside it.
