Glimpse

Most companies chase visibility. Glimpse is chasing what visibility reveals when it actually matters. Out of Somerville, Massachusetts, inside Greentown Labs, this team is focused on a problem operators know too well and the market keeps relearning the hard way. Battery defects do not announce themselves early. They surface late, expensive, and public. Founded in March 2023, Glimpse steps directly into that gap with intent. Eric Moch, CEO, Peter Attia, CTO, and Patrick Herring, CSO, built their conviction inside Tesla and Toyota Research Institute, where quality failures were not theoretical. They were operational risks with real consequences. Their thesis is simple and sharp. If you cannot see inside the cell fast enough, you are not managing risk, you are inheriting it.

The Glimpse Portal, launched in March 2024, reframes that equation. This is not just imaging layered with software. It is a system of record for battery quality, built on X ray CT scanning and delivered through a cloud connected platform that turns isolated inspection into shared intelligence. The edge shows up in speed. What took 8 hours in 2017 is compressing toward 5 seconds. That delta does not read like progress, it reads like permission. Permission to move CT scanning from lab environments into production lines, where decisions carry financial and safety weight. Every scan becomes a persistent fingerprint. Every dataset compounds. Over time, Glimpse is not just identifying defects, it is defining what good actually looks like at scale.

Zoom out and the timing sharpens. A $139.9B battery market in 2024 pushing toward $672.5B is not growing quietly. EV demand, grid storage expansion, aerospace electrification, all stacking pressure on systems that were not designed for this level of throughput. Inside the startup ecosystem, this is where infrastructure companies separate from feature companies. Glimpse is already embedded with operators who do not tolerate uncertainty. Lucid Motors is using the platform to accelerate defect detection across engineering workflows. NASA engaged Glimpse for flight critical battery evaluation, where missing a flaw is not an option you get to recover from. Novonix, Feon Energy, Excillum, and Archer Aviation are leaning in for the same reason. They are not buying visibility for curiosity, they are buying it to protect outcomes.

The capital followed the signal. A $4M seed round led by Ibex Mobility and Flybridge Capital Partners moved quickly into a $10M Series A led by TDK Ventures, bringing Nicolas Sauvage onto the board. Revenue quadrupled in 2025, which in a hardware software hybrid model tells you adoption is not theoretical. It is happening under operational pressure. In the startup ecosystem, that kind of traction usually means one thing. The product is no longer optional for the customers who understand the risk.

Inside Glimpse, the culture tracks the problem set. High clarity, written communication, and accountability that shows up in output, not slogans. Eric Moch operates with supply chain and manufacturing discipline. Peter Attia pushes the boundary on imaging and machine intelligence. Patrick Herring connects physics, software, and systems thinking into something that is difficult to replicate and even harder to replace. This is a team that treats quality as infrastructure, not as a feature you toggle on.

Glimpse is hiring across engineering, sales, and operations, including roles like Cloud and ML Infrastructure Engineer. The work sits where edge computing meets AI and industrial systems, where the result is not a cleaner dashboard but fewer failures in the field. For builders paying attention to where the startup ecosystem is actually creating long term leverage, this is one of those companies that earns a closer look before it becomes obvious.
