Cyera Builds a Trust Layer for Enterprise AI Security

Cyera is building a data-security control plane for enterprises using cloud services, software platforms, and AI agents. The company discovers sensitive data, classifies it, connects it to the identities that can reach it, and helps security teams decide which exposures deserve action.

Yotam Segev, co-founder and CEO, Tamar Bar-Ilan, co-founder and CTO, and Yonatan Itai, co-founder and VP of R&D, lead the company. Founded in 2021, Cyera has expanded from Data Security Posture Management into DLP, access intelligence, endpoint protection, privacy, identity security, and runtime controls for AI agents.

That expansion matters because enterprise AI turns data access into a continuous activity. A model, copilot, or agent can use a valid identity and still reach information that no longer fits its task. Cyera is betting that data context and identity context must become one real-time security decision.

About Cyera

Cyera grew out of security problems Segev and Bar-Ilan encountered while building and running the cloud-security division for Israel's Unit 8200. In an official founder interview, Segev described the original insight plainly: businesses needed broad access to data, but security teams lacked the context to let that access happen safely.

The company emerged from stealth with $60M in financing in 2022. Its first product used an agentless architecture to discover data across cloud environments, classify sensitive information, map access, and prioritize exposures without requiring security teams to write a thicket of manual rules.

Cyera now serves a broader operating problem. Its current platform covers data at rest, in use, and in motion across cloud, SaaS, hybrid, on-premises, endpoint, model, and agent environments. Official materials name Paramount Pictures, Mercury Financial, Chipotle, and Valvoline among customers or customer references.

From Data Discovery to an AI Security Platform

Cyera's technical foundation remains data discovery and classification. Its DSPM product inventories structured and unstructured data, applies business context, connects information to identities and access paths, and helps teams remediate risks. The company says its classification system reaches 95%+ precision, a figure reported by Cyera rather than independently audited.

The surrounding products turn that inventory into a wider control system. Omni DLP uses Cyera's data context to prioritize alerts and adjust policies. Access Trail tracks how people and machines touch sensitive data. AI-SPM inventories AI models, applications, copilots, agents, and knowledge bases, then maps them to identities and data stores.

Agent Guardian pushes the platform closer to runtime. It is designed to discover sanctioned and unsanctioned agents, observe tool calls, understand which data and identities are involved, and block unsafe actions before execution. The distinction is important: a quarterly access review cannot govern software that can query a database and act on the answer in seconds.

Identity Changes the Product Thesis

Cyera's completed $1B acquisition of Oasis Security adds non-human identity management. Oasis is becoming Cyera Identity, giving the company a way to inventory, assign ownership to, and govern machine and agent identities alongside the data they can reach.

The logic is stronger than a simple product bundle. Data security knows what information matters. Identity security knows who or what is asking for access. Agent security has to decide whether a specific action fits the current task, even when the credential is legitimate. Combining the three can move an enterprise from static permission to continuous authorization.

Cyera has also acquired Trail Security, Ryft, and Genie Security while expanding through internal product development. The opportunity is to create one operating layer for data and AI risk. The execution risk is integration. Security teams will judge the platform by whether those capabilities share context and workflows, not by how many product names fit on one diagram.

Leadership, Funding, and Market Position

Segev, Bar-Ilan, and Itai anchor a leadership team that now spans product, strategy, sales, finance, trust, legal, marketing, and customer operations. Cyera's official leadership page also lists Asaf Azaria as Chief Product Officer, Sharon Shaked as Chief People Officer, Brandon Sweeney as President of Worldwide Field Operations, and Lamont Orange as Chief Trust Officer.

The company reported more than 1,100 employees across 15 countries in January 2026, along with 3.4x revenue growth and customers representing 20% of the Fortune 500. Those metrics are company-reported, but they show the scale behind the platform expansion.

Capital has arrived just as quickly. Cyera has disclosed more than $2.7B in financing and says it is valued above $12B. A $400M Series F in January, a $600M Series G in June, and a $400M extension from Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives in September gave the company $1.4B of new capital in 2026 alone.

Culture and the Hiring Signal

Cyera's careers page frames its culture around four values: Push Boundaries, The Customer Compass, Own and Act, and Elevate Together. The accompanying manifesto emphasizes direct feedback, low ego, shared knowledge, curiosity, and a bias for action. Those principles fit a company integrating products and teams at high speed, but the proof will be how consistently they survive the scale.

Current openings span sales, customer success, marketing, security, product, research, R&D, and solutions. They also stretch across the United States, Tel Aviv, Europe, Canada, Latin America, and APAC. That hiring pattern is a market signal: Cyera is staffing both technical integration and the regional go-to-market work required to turn a broad platform into repeatable enterprise deployments.

Federal growth adds another layer. Cyera for Government is listed as FedRAMP In Process, so government expansion still depends on certification and deployment evidence. The same standard applies internationally, where customer outcomes will matter more than office coverage.

What Cyera Has to Prove

Cyera is attempting to make data security the trust layer beneath enterprise AI. The thesis is credible because every agent action eventually touches data, an identity, or both. The company also has the funding, customer access, and product breadth to test that thesis at enterprise scale.

The hard part is coherence. Security platforms become valuable when they reduce the number of disconnected decisions a team must make. They become expensive when every acquisition produces another console, policy language, or investigation queue.

Cyera's next stage will be measured by integration, federal authorization, international deployment, and customer evidence. If the platform can connect data, identity, and agent intent before an action occurs, Cyera will have moved well beyond cloud inventory. It will have built a control system for deciding what enterprise AI is allowed to do.
