Siena Raises $17M for Agent of Record Platform

Siena's funding thesis begins after the support ticket closes. The company wants the reason behind a return, the context inside a social message, and the result of a service conversation to remain useful when the customer shops again or a product team makes its next decision.

Siena has raised a $17M Series A to expand what it calls the Agent of Record for consumer brands. York IE led the October 6, 2026 round, with participation from Joyance Partners, Aglaé Ventures, and Sierra Ventures. Siena's own announcement also names Super Angel Fund.

The financing brings Siena's company-reported total funding to $29.7M. Cofounders Andrei Negrau, CEO, and Lisa Popovici, President, plan to use the capital to build more autonomous agents and shared infrastructure that helps customer-facing agents, internal agents, and human teams work from the same understanding of a customer.

What Happened

Siena's Series A follows a $4.7M Seed round announced in November 2023. The company now reports $29.7M in total funding, although its current authoritative sources do not itemize every financing between that Seed and the Series A. Siena did not disclose its valuation or revenue.

The Business Wire announcement identifies York IE as the lead and names Joyance Ventures, Aglaé Ventures, and Sierra Ventures as participants. Siena's founder-written announcement and York IE's LinkedIn announcement also include Super Angel Fund. The difference is worth preserving because funding records are only useful when the capital accounting is honest.

Siena was formally founded in 2023 after Negrau and Popovici had spent years working in ecommerce and building software for Shopify merchants. TechCrunch's coverage of the 2023 Seed described an early product built to move customer service beyond rigid chatbot scripts and into multi-step work such as order changes, returns, replacements, and subscription requests.

From Support Agent to Shared Customer Memory

The new funding accompanies a broader product strategy. Siena began with an empathic customer-service agent. Its current platform brings conversations, orders, subscriptions, reviews, loyalty data, and brand knowledge into Siena Intelligence, then uses Siena Memory to carry customer context across future interactions.

That architecture supports several jobs. Siena's Shopping Agent answers product questions, recommends products, and helps customers complete purchases inside a conversation. The Social Agent handles moderation, community engagement, and support across comments and direct messages. Voice agents draw on the same customer context, while a shared inbox lets people and agents work alongside each other.

Siena also describes operational controls around those agents. Autopilot helps teams build and improve agent behavior, quality evaluation grades the work, and live-traffic A/B testing lets operators compare policies, journeys, and discounts before a broader rollout. Ask Siena gives operators a way to question the accumulated customer record and trace answers back to underlying conversations.

The technical promise is shared context. The operating challenge is keeping that context accurate, current, policy-safe, and useful across jobs that move at different speeds and carry different consequences.

Why the Customer Relationship Breaks Across Tools

Most consumer brands did not design their customer stack as one system. Support lives in a help desk. Shopping behavior lives in the commerce platform. Loyalty, subscriptions, reviews, social messages, and voice calls can each produce another partial record. A company may resolve every queue efficiently while still losing the relationship between those records.

Siena's own example is a return. A customer may like a product but return it because the fit was wrong. That detail can improve the next recommendation for the individual and reveal a sizing pattern across thousands of customers. When the explanation remains trapped inside a closed support transcript, both uses disappear.

The company says it works with hundreds of brands, including FIGS, SPANX, HexClad, Comfrt, Caraway, Kitsch, and Grüns, and has automated hundreds of millions of interactions. Siena's current company page reports that the platform handles up to 80% of interactions and maintains an average CSAT of 4.81. Those figures are company-reported rather than independently audited, but they describe the production volume behind the Agent of Record thesis.

What the $17M Is Expected to Build

Siena plans to build more autonomous agents and deepen the shared infrastructure underneath them. More autonomy only becomes useful when an agent can act on current customer context, follow the brand's policies, leave an inspectable record, and return control to a person when the work reaches a boundary.

The company-reported customer examples show the range Siena wants to support. At Coterie, Siena says a customer-analysis task that required significant manual work could be completed in ten minutes. At Eskiin, the company says its Social Agent increased weekly comment engagement by 50% while freeing 15 hours per week. At SPANX, Siena says its intelligence layer connected a spike in regional shipping complaints to one carrier issue. These are useful signals, but they remain vendor-supplied case studies rather than audited performance data.

The product and pricing model also reflect the strategy. Siena says it charges for outcomes and intelligence rather than seats, with the help desk included. That gives more operators access to the same customer context as agents take on additional work, although the economics and retention of that model were not disclosed.

What This Signals for Customer Experience AI

Customer-service automation has often been measured by containment, resolution time, and labor removed from a queue. Siena's Series A puts another measure into the conversation: how much useful customer understanding survives after the interaction ends.

That changes the competitive problem. A support agent can answer correctly and still leave the organization no smarter. An Agent of Record has to connect service, commerce, social, retention, and internal decision-making without turning shared memory into another uncontrolled data pile. It must earn trust from the customer, the operator, and the people responsible for policy and brand risk.

York IE is financing Siena's attempt to make that shared customer context part of the operating stack. If the company can carry learning from one interaction into the next useful decision, the value of an AI agent will extend beyond how much work it completes. It will show up in what the brand remembers after the queue is empty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Siena's Agent of Record for consumer brands?

Siena describes its Agent of Record as a shared customer-intelligence layer used by customer-facing agents, internal agents, and human teams. It brings conversations together with orders, subscriptions, reviews, loyalty data, and brand knowledge so context can carry across support, shopping, social, voice, retention, and analysis.

Who led Siena's $17M Series A?

York IE led the October 6, 2026 Series A. The Business Wire release names Joyance Ventures, Aglaé Ventures, and Sierra Ventures as participants, while Siena's own announcement and York IE's post also name Super Angel Fund.

How will Siena use the Series A funding?

Siena says it will use the capital to build more autonomous agents and expand the shared infrastructure behind them. That work includes customer context, agent memory, operator tools, quality evaluation, and controls for deploying agents across customer-facing channels.

How much funding has Siena raised in total?

Siena reports $29.7M in total funding after the Series A. A $4.7M Seed was publicly announced in 2023, but the current authoritative sources do not itemize every financing that makes up the remaining prior capital.

Why does shared customer context matter for consumer brands?

A support conversation can contain information that should change a later recommendation, retention decision, campaign, or product fix. Shared context gives agents and human teams a way to reuse that learning instead of leaving it trapped inside the channel that resolved the original interaction.
