QumulusAI Secures $45M Convertible Note Facility to Expand GPU Cloud and AI Infrastructure Capacity

Atlanta is not waiting on permission, and QumulusAI is moving like it knows time is the only real currency. The company just secured a $45M convertible note facility from ATW Partners, with $15M already deployed, and in a market where GPU access feels rationed, that kind of capital is not passive, it is positioning.

QumulusAI, led by Michael Maniscalco, CEO, and Ryan DiRocco, CTO, is doubling down on one thing: access to compute that actually shows up when it is needed. Not theoretical capacity. Not waitlists dressed up as features. Real, bare metal, GPU-powered cloud built for workloads that do not tolerate delays. Training, inference, long-haul compute, delivered without negotiation.

The architecture behind it is where things get interesting. A vertically integrated stack tying together GPU cloud, data centers, and power. That last piece matters more than most want to admit. Power is the constraint behind the constraint, and solving for it changes the economics of everything upstream. Not flashy, but it is the difference between capacity on paper and capacity in production.

This round being a convertible note is not an accident. Flexibility. Speed. Less theater, more execution. When you are planning to roll out over 21,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs across 2026, you do not need applause, you need supply chains that do not blink and capital that moves like it has somewhere to be.

The deeper play here is control. Hyperscalers built empires on general purpose everything. QumulusAI is going the other way, dialing in for demand that refuses to compromise, for customers who are tired of negotiating with latency and availability like they are middle managers. Enterprises, startups, research teams, all chasing the same thing: consistent, high-performance compute without the drama.

A pattern shows up if you look close enough. They assembled capacity, locked in financing, and built around constraints most teams complain about. Power, hardware, space. Solve those, and suddenly you are not competing on features, you are competing on reality. QumulusAI is not just adding GPUs. They are adding gravity to a market that has been floating on promises. And gravity has a funny way of pulling serious customers into orbit.
