Prime Minute Raises $15M for Wildfire Response

Wildfire technology can locate smoke, heat, and changing conditions with remarkable speed. A response system can still know where an ignition is and fail at the next handoff: getting suppression onto the right ground when darkness, smoke, wind, terrain, or scarce aircraft keep traditional resources away.

Prime Minute emerged from stealth on September 24, 2026 with $15M in pre-seed funding led by Eclipse and joined by 8VC. The Palo Alto company is building an integrated public-resilience platform that combines real-time intelligence, AI-assisted mission analysis, hardware, and operations, beginning with rapid wildfire response.

The financing gives Prime Minute room to keep developing its system, build local manufacturing, expand the team, and move prototypes through testing and validation. It does not turn an emerging capability into a finished commercial product. The company and its Colorado testing partner are unusually clear that the hard proof still sits in the field.

What Prime Minute Is Building

Prime Minute's first hardware system is the Precision Guided Suppression Unit, or PGSU. According to the Colorado Center of Excellence for Advanced Technology Aerial Firefighting, each unit weighs about 1,000 pounds, carries 110 gallons of water, and uses GPS guidance with onboard flight controls to steer toward a predetermined target after release from an aircraft.

The unit is designed to disperse its payload across a 35-foot suppression radius. An aircraft could carry several units and deliver them in sequence, giving responders multiple targeted drops against an emerging fire rather than relying on one large release. Prime Minute pairs that hardware with mission intelligence, planning, command-and-control, and operational coordination.

The concept is built for what fire professionals call denied environments. Darkness, smoke, weather, difficult terrain, limited resource availability, or safety concerns can delay or prevent conventional aerial resources from reaching a fire during the period when rapid initial attack may matter most. Prime Minute is positioning the PGSU as an additional tool for those conditions, not a replacement for firefighters, airtankers, or helicopters.

The Validation Boundary Matters

The Colorado Center of Excellence is independently evaluating the PGSU's safety, accuracy, and precision under realistic operational conditions. Its public project record says the first phase focused on those measures, while future phases will examine heat absorption, suppression effectiveness, and how many units are needed to address an ignition of a given size.

That distinction keeps the story honest. The PGSU has been tested, but it has not yet been proven as a broadly deployable wildfire-suppression service. Fire departments cannot currently request the system for an active incident, and the State of Colorado explicitly says participation in the testing program is not a commercial endorsement.

Inc.'s reporting adds more detail to the development plan. Prime Minute says it has tested units in Colorado, Oregon, Israel, and Uganda, and plans further work involving prescribed burns before a later phase aimed at controlled operational use during the 2027 fire season. Those are company-reported plans, not completed milestones.

Why the First Hour Has Become a Market

The United States already spends heavily on detection, forecasting, mapping, crews, aircraft, evacuation, insurance, and recovery. USGS cites an estimated $424B in annual wildfire costs when damage to property, infrastructure, ecosystems, health, evacuation, construction, and rehabilitation are considered together.

Prime Minute is attacking the gap between awareness and physical action. Better sensing can shorten the time to recognition, but recognition has limited value when no safe resource can reach the ignition. The company's thesis is that intelligence, mission planning, and precision delivery need to operate as one system if the first hour is going to become an engineered response window.

That approach also changes the commercial conversation. Prime Minute told Inc. that it plans to offer suppression as a service rather than sell individual units. Public agencies remain obvious buyers, but the company also sees private demand from utilities, insurers, data-center operators, and other owners of critical infrastructure exposed to wildfire risk.

Who Is Building the Company

Prime Minute's official announcement identifies Gabe Sganga as cofounder and Chief Growth Officer. Eclipse's announcement also identifies Ronen Korman, Itai Mendelsohn, Gabe Sganga, and Joey F. as cofounders, while Inc. reports that Eclipse founder Lior Susan is a Prime Minute cofounder and executive chairman.

The public team record spans Palantir, Forterra, Datorios, aerospace, public service, and national-security operations. Inc. reports that Prime Minute was founded in August 2025 and has about 24 employees, most based in Israel, while the company's public headquarters is Palo Alto, California. Prime Minute has not disclosed a valuation, revenue, named commercial customers, or a complete history of prior financing.

What the $15M Needs to Prove

The round is large enough to support hardware iteration, aircraft integration, manufacturing work, hiring, and more field data. It is not large enough to remove the procurement, safety, regulatory, and operating questions that arrive when a new aerial system moves from a validation site toward live emergency response.

Prime Minute now has to show that precision delivery changes outcomes under the conditions that make existing response difficult. That means reproducible safety performance, clear operating protocols, reliable coordination with aircraft and incident command, credible unit economics, and evidence that multiple PGSUs can suppress fire rather than simply reach a target.

The company is trying to make the first hour of a wildfire an operating window instead of a period everyone documents while the fire grows. The $15M buys more chances to test that proposition in the only environment that can answer it.
