Implicity Raises $40M to Scale AI Cardiac Monitoring

Implicity has raised $40M in growth equity to expand its AI-driven cardiac remote-monitoring platform, with IRIS leading and Five Arrows investing alongside it. IRIS reports the same financing as €35M, reflecting the European presentation of the round rather than a second pool of capital.

The company plans to scale its U.S. commercial operation, build features for American health systems, strengthen its position in Europe, and continue developing predictive and diagnostic AI. That work includes the next generation of heart-failure prediction algorithms.

The larger market story is an attention problem hiding inside a data success. Remote monitoring lets cardiac teams follow more patients and receive more information outside the clinic, but every additional device feed and alert also creates work that someone must review, prioritize, document, and connect to care.

From Five Device Portals to One Clinical View

Electrophysiologist Arnaud Rosier created Implicity in 2016 after encountering that burden in his own practice. The company's origin story begins with five manufacturer portals, five passwords, and five different ways to display information about patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices. The technology existed to transmit the data, but the workflow still made clinicians assemble the patient picture by hand.

Implicity built a manufacturer-agnostic software layer for that gap. Its platform aggregates, normalizes, and analyzes data from implantable cardiac devices and heart-failure monitoring programs, then brings the information into one interface with electronic health record integrations. The product is meant to help care teams spend less time navigating systems and more time deciding which signals require action.

Rosier remains CEO and co-founder. The company's official leadership materials also identify David Perlmutter as co-founder, Chief Strategy Officer, and Head of R&D, while Louay Gargoum serves as CTO with responsibility for software engineering and cloud operations. Implicity operates from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Paris, France.

Why Remote Monitoring Creates an Operations Problem

The 2023 international consensus on remote device clinics recommends remote monitoring as part of the standard of care for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices. The same guidance describes the workload behind that standard: enrollment, connectivity, scheduling, data triage, alert management, documentation, communication, and coordination with electronic medical records.

That is the commercial opening for Implicity. Hospitals are not shopping for more cardiac data in the abstract. They are trying to turn a rising volume of transmissions into a manageable clinical service without letting routine noise consume the attention needed for actionable events.

Implicity says its platform is used daily by more than 250 medical centers and monitors 120,000+ patients across the United States, France, and Germany. Those adoption figures come from the company and its investors rather than an independent audit, but they show the operating scale that IRIS and Five Arrows are underwriting.

Regulatory Clearance Changes the Sales Conversation

Healthcare software can demonstrate an attractive workflow and still stall when buyers reach regulation, clinical evidence, security, and accountability. Implicity has spent years building through those gates. The FDA cleared SignalHF in October 2023 as a Class II medium-term adjunctive predictive cardiovascular indicator, and it cleared the company's next-generation ILR ECG Analyzer in July 2026.

A nationwide French observational study of 69,394 patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators found that a third-party universal monitoring system was associated with lower adjusted mortality and hospitalization hazards than conventional manufacturer-specific remote monitoring. The study is meaningful evidence, but it was not randomized and does not establish causation. Its disclosures also identify Rosier as Implicity's CEO and a major shareholder, an important boundary when interpreting the results.

That distinction matters because the next phase of growth will happen inside complex health systems, where procurement depends on more than product demonstrations. Implicity must keep translating regulatory clearance, workflow integration, and clinical research into confidence that its software can sit between sensitive device data and medical decisions at greater scale.

What the $40M Growth Round Funds

The September 9, 2026 financing is a growth-equity round, not a lettered Series B. IRIS led the investment and Five Arrows, the alternative-assets arm of Rothschild & Co, participated alongside it. The parties did not disclose Implicity's valuation, ownership changes, individual check sizes, board changes, or whether any portion involved secondary shares.

The company has raised institutional capital before. A €4M Seed round in 2019 backed its early European and U.S. expansion, and a $23M Series A in 2022 was led by Crédit Mutuel Innovation and Bpifrance with BNP Paribas Development and returning investors Serena, XAnge, and Karista. A clean lifetime total is not available because the disclosed financing history spans currencies and includes separately reported grant or support programs that should not be mixed into equity accounting without more detail.

For the current round, the use of proceeds is clearer. Implicity plans local commercial hiring in the United States, product development for the American market, further European expansion, and continued investment in AI for cardiac monitoring and heart-failure prediction.

The Next Gate Is Health-System Trust

IRIS and Five Arrows are backing a company that has moved beyond a single algorithm or dashboard. Implicity now combines cross-manufacturer data aggregation, clinical workflow software, regulated medical-device algorithms, and a growing transatlantic customer base. That combination gives the company more ways to create value, but it also makes the promise harder to deliver consistently.

The decisive metric will be how well Implicity helps medical teams allocate attention as monitoring programs grow. Adding patients is useful only when the system keeps the right alert visible, preserves clinical accountability, and fits the daily work of people who cannot treat every transmission as equally urgent. The $40M round gives Implicity more room to earn that trust in the United States while the next generation of its predictive tools moves closer to the clinicians expected to act on them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does cardiac remote monitoring create an operational challenge for clinics?

Remote monitoring increases the number of device transmissions that teams must enroll, review, triage, document, and connect to clinical action. The 2023 international consensus on remote device clinics recognizes these staffing and workflow demands even while recommending remote monitoring as standard care for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices.

What does Implicity's platform do?

Implicity aggregates and normalizes data from cardiac implantable electronic devices across manufacturers, supports heart-failure monitoring, and integrates information into clinical and EHR workflows. Its software is designed to help medical teams identify which signals require attention without moving among separate manufacturer portals.

Why is the new round reported as both $40M and €35M?

The U.S. announcement presents the financing as $40M, while lead investor IRIS presents the same round as €35M. They are two currency descriptions of one growth-equity transaction and should not be added together.

What regulatory clearances has Implicity received in the United States?

FDA records show SignalHF was cleared as a Class II medium-term adjunctive predictive cardiovascular indicator in October 2023. The agency also cleared Implicity's next-generation ILR ECG Analyzer as a Class II programmable diagnostic computer in July 2026.

What should health systems watch as Implicity expands in the United States?

The central issue is whether Implicity can translate regulatory clearances, clinical research, and cross-manufacturer data integration into lower operational burden at larger scale. Buyers should also distinguish company-reported adoption and observational clinical associations from independently audited commercial performance or randomized clinical evidence.
