Fasset Raises $68M Series C for Stablecoin Banking

Stablecoins can compress settlement into software, but cross-border banking still runs through licences, counterparties, liquidity and local payment rails. A transaction may clear quickly only after several institutions have agreed that the route is allowed to exist.

Fasset has raised a $68M Series C to build more of those routes. SBI Group led the August 24, 2026, financing at a stated $1B private valuation, 3 months after Fasset announced a $51M Series B. The 2 rounds bring Fasset's 2026 funding to $119M, while the company says lifetime funding now exceeds $150M.

The new capital will expand Own Network, Fasset's infrastructure for connecting banks, payment providers, telecom companies, liquidity partners, custody providers and settlement systems. It will also fund more agentic AI for corridor banking, stablecoin settlement and tokenized assets. The investment matters because SBI is not arriving as a distant financial sponsor; it already invested in Fasset and began testing a remittance partnership around the same infrastructure.

What Fasset Raised

Fasset's Series C was led by SBI Group, one of Japan's largest financial groups, at a stated $1B valuation. The issuer did not disclose the size of SBI's check, the percentage of Fasset sold, the security terms or a complete list of Series C participants. The valuation should therefore be read as the private price accepted in this financing, not a public market capitalization or an independently audited measure of the business.

The financing sequence is unusually compressed. Fasset announced its $51M Series B on May 15, 2026, naming SBI Group, Investcorp, Arz Portföy and other strategic partners, then returned roughly 3 months later with the larger Series C. Fasset's announcement says the 2026 rounds total $119M and that the company has raised more than $150M since its 2019 founding.

Mohammad Raafi Hossain, Co-Founder and CEO, and Daniel Ahmed, Co-Founder and COO, founded Fasset around a problem that remains stubbornly local: people and businesses do not receive equal access to currencies, payments and investable assets simply because the internet reaches them. The company has teams and regulated entities across several markets, while its public materials variously use Los Angeles and Dubai location descriptions. DevCuration is not forcing that distributed footprint into one definitive headquarters label.

How Own Network Connects the Product

Fasset offers financial accounts designed to let individuals, businesses and institutions receive, hold, move, spend and invest across currencies, markets and asset classes. Underneath those accounts, Own Network connects local banking systems, payment companies, financial institutions, telecom providers, liquidity sources, custody partners and settlement networks across more than 100 banking corridors.

Stablecoins can operate inside that system as settlement infrastructure even when the customer is not explicitly sending a token. Fasset says its AI selects among payment rails, currencies, liquidity providers and settlement methods according to cost, speed and availability. The commercial proposition is less about turning every customer into a crypto user and more about hiding the route complexity behind an account that behaves consistently.

That abstraction does not remove the hard work. Every corridor still carries its own rules, counterparties, liquidity conditions and failure modes, and a software routing decision cannot create a licence or force a bank to accept a transaction. Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority lists Fasset FZE as an active VASP licensed for broker-dealer services, but that verified Dubai permission should not be mistaken for an identical regulatory position in every country where Fasset reports customers.

Why SBI Is More Than the Lead Investor

SBI first invested in Fasset in May 2026. In June, SBI Holdings and SBI Remit announced an agreement with Fasset to explore next-generation international remittance infrastructure. SBI Remit brought a network capable of bank-account transfers to roughly 200 countries, while Fasset brought stablecoin settlement infrastructure and operating relationships across high-growth markets.

The Series C deepens that relationship instead of starting it. SBI gains a financial-technology partner already building across Asia, the Middle East and other emerging markets; Fasset gains access to a group spanning banking, securities, remittance, asset management and digital assets. The investment thesis depends on whether those institutional assets can open and support more reliable corridors, not whether the unicorn label travels well in a press release.

This is a familiar direction inside financial infrastructure. DevCuration's coverage of Augustus and its cross-border dollar-access strategy showed why regulated routes, payment access and compliance capability are becoming part of the product rather than back-office details. Fasset approaches the problem from stablecoin settlement and emerging-market access, but the operating truth is similar: the valuable interface is the one backed by a route that can legally and reliably carry money.

The Scale Is Large and Still Company-Reported

Fasset reports more than $40B in annualized transaction volume, more than 3M wallets, over 1,000 enterprise customers and users across 125 countries. In a direct interview with CoinDesk, Mohammad Raafi Hossain said revenue grew about 6x year over year and that the company had been profitable for 12 consecutive months.

Those figures indicate substantial flow, but the financial picture remains incomplete. Fasset did not disclose absolute revenue, profit, margin, take rate, active-wallet counts, customer concentration or corridor-level economics. Annualized transaction volume says how much value moves through a system; it does not say how much economic value the operator retains after liquidity, compliance, bank-partner and operating costs.

The distinction matters because a global payments network can become larger while individual routes remain expensive or thinly used. Investors are underwriting the possibility that shared technology, regulatory relationships and institutional distribution can improve those economics over time. The public evidence does not yet show which corridors are most productive or how quickly the newest ones repay the cost of opening them.

What the Series C Makes Possible

Fasset says the Series C will expand Own Network and deepen AI systems supporting stablecoin settlement, tokenization and corridor banking. That can mean more institutional connections, more route choices and better selection among payment and liquidity options. It can also mean a larger operational surface that must be monitored for compliance, uptime, pricing, fraud and counterparty risk.

The promise of agentic routing is useful when it stays attached to the real job. Software can evaluate cost, speed and availability across multiple rails, but it cannot negotiate away jurisdictional rules or make liquidity appear during stress. The system becomes valuable when automation respects those constraints and still produces a simpler customer experience.

Fasset is therefore spending the round on both reach and control. The company wants more corridors while using AI to manage the complexity created by those corridors. SBI's participation gives that ambition institutional weight, but execution will still be measured one market, partner and transaction path at a time.

What Fasset Must Prove Next

The $1B valuation confirms that investors were willing to price Fasset as a fintech unicorn. It does not answer whether the company's reported transaction volume converts into durable margins, whether wallet growth reflects active financial relationships or whether every new corridor improves the network instead of adding expensive exceptions.

The next evidence should come from operating disclosures rather than another valuation milestone. Revenue quality, profit durability, active customer behavior, corridor economics and the depth of the SBI relationship will show whether Fasset has built a scalable financial network or an increasingly complicated collection of routes. More transparency would also let the market distinguish regulated infrastructure from a broad geographic marketing claim.

Fasset has already moved beyond the idea that stablecoins are merely assets held in a wallet. Its Series C is financing a bet that stablecoins can disappear into the machinery of banking while customers receive a cleaner account and institutions receive a controllable route. Settlement can be fast; trust, permission and economics still have to arrive together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Fasset's $68M Series C matter beyond the $1B valuation?

The round gives Fasset capital to expand Own Network and deepen AI-assisted routing across stablecoin settlement, tokenized assets and cross-border banking corridors. SBI Group's lead role also connects the financing to an existing remittance and infrastructure partnership, making institutional distribution part of the investment case.

What is Fasset's Own Network?

Own Network is Fasset's infrastructure layer connecting banks, payment providers, telecom companies, liquidity sources, custody partners and settlement systems across more than 100 banking corridors. Fasset says stablecoins can operate underneath parts of that flow while customers use financial accounts rather than managing settlement rails directly.

What does Fasset's reported $40B annualized transaction volume prove?

The company-reported figure indicates substantial value is moving through Fasset's system. It does not disclose revenue, profit, margins, active-wallet counts or how much economic value Fasset retains after liquidity, compliance, banking-partner and operating costs.

Why is SBI Group strategically important to Fasset?

SBI first invested in Fasset in May 2026 and announced a June partnership involving SBI Remit before leading the Series C. Fasset can potentially use SBI's banking, remittance, regulatory and digital-asset relationships to add routes connecting Japan with Asia and other emerging markets.

What should operators and investors watch after Fasset's Series C?

The next useful evidence is revenue quality, profit durability, active customer behavior, corridor-level economics and the depth of the SBI partnership. Those measures will show whether more corridors create a scalable network or a more expensive collection of local exceptions.
