Advisar Raises $750K for Retail Media Decisioning

Advisar has secured a $750K Pre-Seed round to build an independent decisioning layer for retail suppliers buying media through Walmart Connect. Clutch VC led the financing, with Venture Center Arkansas Fund, The Validation Fund at Winrock International, Rekall Capital, White River Capital Advisors, Michael Paladino, and Jeff Amerine participating.

The Bentonville, Arkansas company is targeting a measurement problem that gets more expensive as retail media budgets grow. A network can sell the advertising inventory and report the campaign return, while the supplier still has to decide whether that spend produced incremental sales, captured demand already in motion, or deserves another dollar in the next budget cycle.

What Advisar Raised and Who Backed It

The $750K Pre-Seed was announced on August 27, 2026. Advisar said the capital will support product development and go-to-market work as the company moves from beta toward general availability planned for fall 2026.

Clutch VC, an Austin firm focused on first checks into early B2B software companies, led the round. The syndicate also includes Arkansas-connected institutions and operators: Venture Center Arkansas Fund, The Validation Fund at Winrock International, Rekall Capital, White River Capital Advisors, RevUnit co-founder Michael Paladino, and Cadron Capital Partners co-founder and General Partner Jeff Amerine.

The announcement does not disclose a valuation, ownership terms, investor check sizes, previous financing, or total funding. It also does not name customers or provide revenue, retention, or audited performance data, so those measures remain outside the public record.

Christina Johnson Built From Inside the Retail Media System

Founder and CEO Christina Johnson spent a decade at Walmart, including service as Chief of Staff at Walmart Connect. Advisar says that experience included running large marketing programs, leading Walmart's brand social team, and helping build the retail media operation that became Walmart Connect.

That background gives the company a specific starting point. Johnson is not approaching retail media as an abstract advertising category; she is building for suppliers that have to translate campaign reports into a decision that finance, sales, marketing, and retail partners can all defend.

Advisar is based in Bentonville, Walmart's home market and a center of gravity for suppliers selling through the retailer. The exact company founding date is not disclosed, and no other current Advisar executive was verified in the sources reviewed.

How Advisar Turns Reporting Into Decisions

Advisar describes its product as an independent AI-enabled decisioning layer rather than another campaign dashboard. The platform combines Walmart Connect campaign data, Walmart point-of-sale data, and promotion data in one performance model, then ranks recommended actions around what worked, where attribution may be overstated, and where budget should move next.

The distinction is commercial. A dashboard can organize performance data without resolving whether a campaign drove incremental growth, defended market share, supported a product launch, or collected credit for sales that were likely to happen anyway. Advisar is trying to make that answer useful enough to change allocation, not merely improve reporting.

The company currently focuses on Walmart suppliers. Advisar says support for Amazon Ads, Target Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, and other retail media networks is rolling out, which would give suppliers a normalized view across more places where they buy inventory. The company has not publicly detailed its technical stack, security certifications, infrastructure, patents, or precise integration architecture.

Why Independent Retail Media Measurement Matters

Retail media has the advantage of proximity to transaction data, but closed-loop reporting is only as useful as the definitions, attribution rules, and counterfactual logic underneath it. Suppliers need to understand what would have happened without the campaign, whether multiple channels claimed the same sale, and how promotional activity affected the result.

IAB's guidance for incremental measurement in commerce media calls for credible counterfactuals, control of bias, and separation of signal from noise. Its broader 2026 commerce-media work also emphasizes the need to connect media investment to measurable business outcomes across increasingly complex digital, in-store, off-site, and cross-channel environments.

That does not validate any individual Advisar recommendation. It does show that the company is entering a market where measurement rigor has become an operating requirement rather than a nice addition to the media report.

What the $750K Makes Possible

At Pre-Seed, $750K buys time and focus more than scale. Advisar has to deepen the product, translate Johnson's operator knowledge into repeatable software, and build a go-to-market motion that reaches supplier teams before the budget review becomes another renewal based on a number nobody fully trusts.

The funding announcement said Advisar was in beta and expected to become generally available in fall 2026. The company's site now describes the platform as live for Walmart suppliers, which is consistent with a product serving beta users before a broader commercial release. Advisar also planned appearances at Groceryshop in Las Vegas and Shoptalk in Nashville during September.

The company says it targets mid-market CPG and consumer-brand suppliers selling through Walmart, particularly businesses with $50M to $500M in annual revenue and six- or seven-figure Walmart Connect budgets. Those figures define Advisar's intended customer profile; they are not disclosed customer results.

The Market Signal Behind the Round

Clutch VC's investment thesis is that fast-growing marketing channels eventually create demand for an independent measurement layer. In retail media, that layer has to do more than reconcile reports. It must help a supplier distinguish platform attribution from business impact and turn that distinction into a budget decision.

Advisar enters the market before it has published the proof points that will define its commercial case. The company still needs to show that its recommendations influence allocation, improve supplier outcomes, and remain useful as data moves across more networks with different rules and reporting systems.

That work will happen in ordinary planning meetings, not in the financing announcement. Each time a supplier asks whether the next retail media dollar belongs in search, display, streaming, promotion, or somewhere else entirely, Advisar is trying to make the supplier's economics the final authority in the room.
