Acuity Analytics Acquires Continuus for US Data Delivery

The US specialists joining Acuity Analytics bring something a global delivery network has to acquire carefully: working knowledge of the institutions it serves. Acuity's purchase of Continuus, a Milwaukee data consultancy focused on financial services, puts that knowledge closer to its larger technology and analytics organization.

The acquisition closed October 1, 2026, and was announced October 7, with financial terms undisclosed. The company announcement says 37 specialists are joining Acuity, extending its US data strategy, governance and engineering capabilities. For asset managers modernizing their data environments, the combination offers a wider delivery organization around a team already familiar with the sector.

Continuus founder and CEO Matt Moeser started the business in 2011, and its official history says the original investment-management client remains a customer. That relationship makes the transaction more interesting than a headcount addition: Acuity is expanding through people whose work has survived changes in the technology around it.

A consulting relationship built over 15 years

Continuus' company history traces its beginning to financial-services implementations of IHS Markit EDM, an enterprise data-management system. Matt Moeser started alone and hired the first consultant in 2015. The business subsequently expanded into business intelligence and data science, then cloud modernization, while keeping the investment-management focus that produced its first engagement.

A retained first client is a useful detail in a services acquisition. The consultant and the institution accumulate a shared understanding of what the data means, which changes the business can tolerate and how decisions get made. New technology enters that relationship over time, along with new employees and new priorities. Continuing the engagement requires enough institutional memory to make those changes intelligible.

For Acuity, that history provides a reason to care about the team beyond its technical certifications. The opportunity is to put a wider set of capabilities within reach of those client relationships while preserving the context that made the specialist valuable. A financial institution may gain more capacity from the combination, but it will encounter that capacity through specific people, projects and responsibilities.

The client history also keeps the founder's role concrete. Moeser's decision to join Acuity places a business developed over 15 years inside an organization with a much broader footprint. His stated rationale emphasizes access to additional capabilities and a global platform. The useful question for customers becomes how that larger organization participates in work they already know.

The acquisition adds US delivery depth

Acuity describes the United States as its largest market. Adding an onshore consulting team creates another way to connect that market with its global delivery resources, particularly on projects that involve both local client decisions and sustained implementation. The transaction adds capability across data strategy, governance, engineering and cloud data platforms rather than a single software product.

Acuity CEO Rob King and Stewart Smythe, its CDO for AI, Data & Digital, place sector knowledge and execution alongside technical expertise in their explanation of the purchase. That combination matters because a financial institution's migration plan has to accommodate the work already being performed. The project includes definitions, operating practices and responsibility for the resulting data, as well as the engineering that moves it.

Envoy Capital Advisors served as Continuus' exclusive sell-side advisor. Acuity is the trading name of Acuity Knowledge Partners, with Permira as majority owner and Equistone retaining a minority position. Those ownership relationships provide corporate context; the parties have not disclosed the purchase economics or a transaction-specific financing package.

Continuus also has an earlier capital chapter. Borgman Capital announced a growth-equity investment in June 2024, supporting the consultancy's expansion. The historical investment establishes that the business had already attracted institutional backing, while leaving the current seller arrangements and returns outside the disclosed record.

What financial-services customers are buying

Continuus organizes its services around data strategy and governance, delivery and transformation, and AI and analytics. These are connected jobs for a financial institution: defining the information it needs, arranging how that information is maintained and making it usable inside a business process. The target's cloud and analytics work sits within that wider implementation relationship.

The Snowflake partnership helps explain the technical ecosystem in which Continuus operates. The acquisition announcement also references Microsoft Fabric and Databricks as platforms involved in client demand. Those names identify environments a buyer may be modernizing; they should not be read as newly announced customer contracts or a claim that every platform choice produces the same result.

Continuus COO Andy Leichtle's writing on governed AI describes the responsibilities surrounding automated work: tracing inputs, recording decisions, defining human review and monitoring changes. It is the company's operating perspective, rather than an independent finding about its delivery results. It gives a clearer account of the work a consulting customer may need to commission alongside a model or cloud deployment.

For an asset manager, that work concerns how information becomes dependable enough to use. A migration can move the underlying records while leaving questions about ownership and exceptions unresolved. A delivery partner earns a continuing role by helping the institution handle those questions within its own processes, including the circumstances that require somebody to review or correct an output.

A wider organization around familiar work

The acquisition follows Acuity's purchases of PPA Group in 2024 and Ascent in 2025. Acuity presents those transactions as part of its development from financial-services research and analytics toward a broader technology business. Continuus adds a US consulting relationship to that progression, with a particular emphasis on data infrastructure and implementation.

That direction fits a market in which the work surrounding AI increasingly belongs to the enterprise itself. DevCuration's reporting on BlueMatrix's planned acquisition of Aiera examines another financial-services transaction connecting AI with established workflows. The mechanisms differ, but both put existing professional work close to the center of the transaction rationale.

Continuus' own discussion of AI operational returns favors measuring whole-process cycle time, quality, capacity and cost. That offers a practical lens for customers evaluating the combined organization. Additional engineering resources have commercial value when the institution can connect them with work completed, exceptions handled and decisions supported.

The larger Acuity organization will now sit around relationships that began on a much smaller scale. For Matt Moeser's first investment-manager client, the people explaining the next data change have access to more colleagues and more capabilities than they did in 2011. How those colleagues enter the engagement will become part of the relationship's continuing history.
